The Challenge
As the designer of the mobile team, I needed to be more competent in organizing a design system element. The team expected my expertise in previews, behaviors, and user expectations. This meant lots of meetings, lots of questioning, and multiple user interviews to understand individual problems and create a unified experience for all.
And also, creating one component system for all stakeholders was a big challenge.

The Solution
I deconstructed all the preview sections, analyzing and listening to other people. When we agreed on the acceptable version of the preview area, the main work began: creating the master component and documentation. Thanks to the aid of my DS team leads, I got valuable feedback. In the end, I crafted a single component for all designers.

The Takeaways
The good thing in the SAAS environment is that your users can complain about lots of things as they pay you. This sounds bad but quite the opposite, you are getting lots of feedbacks to work on.
I was also afraid of the unknown—not knowing what to ask, where to start, or which path to take is stressful. I was okay with asking questions but needed a clear and informed plan. During this project, I learned how to tackle unknown situations and use every source along the way. I required multiple revisions and lessons to reach the most polished design.

Deconstruct to Build
This project taught me about deconstructing a design. I saw its anatomy and understood the rationale behind each design decision. Using this method, I can craft my questions better and understand products more deeply.
It is an amazing method to create complex components in Figma, too! 😄
